So the other night (Friday), I was up late flipping channels and I came across this Tony Robbins infomercial advertising his "Unleash The Power" audiobooks. It featured all these testimonies by seemingly random people hooting and hollering about how listening to Tony's tapes made them successful. He took the Proactiv route and jam packed the 30 minute ad with as many celebrities he could find. Apparently HE'S responsible for her overcoming her I-can't-win-a-major cup-slump thing a few years ago.
Do you believe that?
Personally, I'm not sure what to believe so I won't outright hate on Robbins for "motivating" people to make moves. But how much should we lean on other people's, namely strangers, words in order to fuel our own personal progress? I did like what I heard from Robins so I chose to cite a quote he made from his audio books. He won't be seeing 3 payments of $19.99, from me any time soon.
Currently, I'm reading Make It Happen: The Hip-Hop Generation Guide to Success by Kevin Liles. [Ironically, the tagline of this book ("From Intern to President") coupled with the brainstorming of two young professionals spawned the formation of this site]. I like to read about other's failures and successes because it allows you to see the route they took to accomplish their goals. PERIOD. NO MORE NO LESS. That's the starting blocks, the blueprint, the bricks in the foundation.
With that said, 11 more days to go before I break ground towards success.
